Our Second Show was a The International Cat Association (TICA) show in Green Cove Springs, Florida 10/ 2002 Nova did quite well in competing with the big boys even though she just had her 9 month birthday, she even earned a title in her first TICA show. She got a ribbon for being the 5th Best Cat in All Breed and enough points in all to be a Champion! I can't say she enjoyed the car cage any more than the last trip but when we got there and she realized we weren't at the vet's office, she actually loosened up and enjoyed the show.
Our ThirdShow was a The International Cat Association (TICA) show in Green Cove Springs, Florida 10/ 2003
Sirocco Sirocco #61 Taj Mahal #62 Tajma
Anna & Marjory's , Spotted Tabby, Jasper and his buddy, Brown Marbled Tabby, Topaz We brought our own Etché Taj Mahal and Nairobi Siroco for their first show in the kitten class (4-7 months, they are barely 4 months old and just made it). We got several 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's and 5's in color and division but unfortunately, not enough points to make any finals or bring home any ribbons. We are a little dissapointed but there was incredible competition and so many gorgeous and older kitens so we were not surprised. Anna and her mother Marjory did very well with their kittens in the show. Their beautiful pet, Jasper, raked in the ribbonsand got 2nd best household pet kitten in the whole show! And their gorgeous marble pet, Topaz (Nova's son and Tajma's littermate) got best in color in 10 of 12 rings! Sirocco, Tajma, Jasper & Topaz all enjoyed seeing the other cats and it was an exciting experience for them but they have never been caged and this was their first time show so the environment was scary for them. After the 2 days and 12 rings, we were all exhausted but Sirocco & Tajma snoozed in the van all the way home. Simba was overjoyed to see that everyone was back home safely and wrestled with Tajma while Sirocco insisted on a session of his favorite pastime, "FETCH." He was so frisky when we got home, he was bouncing all over the living room. The show was successful this time, for us, not by ribbons won but by seeing friends and we got some good suggestions from other people at the show on how to prepare our cats and make it a rewarding experience for them so I hope they will be more comfortable at the next show where they will be shown as adults. The International Cat Association (TICA) Felines Del Sol in Fort Myers, Florida Jan 31-Feb 1st, 2004 Home Grown Etché Kittens: Our little Taj Mahal got a final on Sunday and was 7th best allbreed (of all breeds)kitten in in the show. We are very proud of her. The judge, Fate Mays, said she had the best head type and perfectly shaped eyes along with exceptional coat color. If she'd been an adult, she had enough points to be a champion, this is the first cat we've shown that we bred ourselves and although there was superior competition, we are delighted with how our girl did and think it's not bad for us newbies :) And Etché Simbas Son of Leprica... He couldn't stay long as his owner had kittens at home to tend to but Lover boy, Simba's son racked up some points and enjoyed the flattery from onlookersat the Feline Del Sol show. Gotta love that sleek gold glittered coat and what a personality on this big boy too!
